Welcome Back 2008-2009

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends,

We are very excited about our upcoming walkathon entitled: “Hands Across Lehigh: The Children’s March 2008”.  This year it will be held on Saturday, April 26.  It will begin in St. Martin de Porres Church at 1:00 with a short program of song, prayer and dance.  After that we will begin our march east on Lehigh Avenue to St. Anne Church in the 2300 block of East Lehigh Avenue.  The march will be 3 miles long.  We will be joined by 6 other Catholic schools – each with their own special color tee shirt for this event.  We hope to see many of you there at the Church and for all or part of our walk.  Our students, as you know, are working on obtaining pledges to help support the school.

On the day before, April 25 in school, we will have a “Fun Day”.  We’ll start with prayer, special activities, giant buffet lunch and an outdoor DJ in the schoolyard.  We welcome parents and family members to help with the buffet and spend some time.

The event will be covered by the media and we are excited about the day!

REGISTRATION FOR 2008-09

We are happy to announce that our tuition will not increase next year!  Thanks to the support of our pastor, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the BLOCS program and our own families’ fundraising efforts, we are able to do this.  Friends: If you ever doubt the power of hard work, just look at what we are accomplishing.

School Families already enrolled: Re-registration begins Wednesday, April 16.  Check your children’s folders for the registration flyer.  Mail your $100 re-registration fee to the P.O. Box(49140, Phila., PA 19141).

Brand NEW FAMILIES INTERESTED IN 08-09

Please call the school office at 215-223-6862/6872 to find out the next date for school registration for the Fall of 2008.  We have already held some registrations.  So, please do not delay!

Academically, the school year ends with final exams.  Please increase your efforts to help your child with his/her school work.  It could be the difference between passing and failing.  Teach your child the importance of “finishing strong”.

God bless you!

Sister Nancy Fitzgerald, S.S.J.
